Pricing · Iowa City, Iowa
You will know the price before we start.
We do not publish a fee schedule, because a price list cannot see your house. Here is exactly how a number gets to you instead: what is free, what is written down, and what moves the figure. Call (319) 344-2252 to start.

01 · The sequence
How a price reaches you.
You call, free
Describe what the house is doing. We tell you honestly whether it is urgent, and what to check yourself first. Costs nothing.
We diagnose
A repair needs a real diagnosis before a real number. For replacements we measure the house instead, which is free.
One written price
You get the number on paper before any work starts, with the failed part on the bench where you can see it.
You decide
Yes, no, or not yet. Declining costs nothing, and we will say plainly if a repair can safely wait.
02 · What moves the number
Why two houses get different quotes.
Nobody can price your job from a web page, but everybody can understand what drives it. These are the real factors.
On repairs this is most of it. A capacitor and a compressor are the same visit and wildly different prices, which is why the diagnosis comes first.
On installations, equipment gets sized by measuring rooms, insulation, and windows, not by copying the sticker on the old unit.
New equipment on leaking or undersized ducts underperforms. Sometimes a quote should include duct corrections, and sometimes it genuinely should not.
Higher-efficiency equipment costs more up front and less every month after. In a heating season this long that trade matters, and it stays your call.
New furnaces and full installations require an Iowa City mechanical permit. We pull it and schedule the inspection, and it belongs in the quote.
Planned work in a shoulder season is calmer and easier to schedule than an emergency during the first hard freeze. Same equipment, different experience.
03 · What we will not do
No fee schedule, no surprises.
We will not quote a repair over the phone. A number without a diagnosis is a guess, and guesses get revised upward once someone is standing in your basement. You get one firm number, in writing, after we have actually looked.
We will not publish a price list. A fee schedule invites you to compare line items instead of outcomes, and it goes stale the moment parts pricing moves. What we commit to is the process above, every time.
We will not charge you for saying no. Hearing the price and deciding against it is a normal outcome. So is being told the repair can wait until spring, which happens more than you might expect.
We will not sell you the biggest box. Oversized equipment short-cycles, wears out early, and costs more twice. We quote what the measurement says the house needs, with options from good to best.
Get your number in writing.
Tell us what the house is doing. A real person reads it and calls you back.
